My Mandala Adventure

My journey began with a spark and grew into a life long passion. Drawing mandalas started many years ago, while living in Vancouver and working at a Banyan Books. I was seeing beautiful spiritual and cosmic art that inspired me to doodle and then create my own versions that suited my tastes and interests. There was so much art around me that I was marinating in, I couldn’t help but be drawn in.

Collaborating with others was also a big part of my journey. It started first with my joining an improvisational singing circle, where I learnt how to create in the moment with other voices, creating wonderful music together. Co-creating mandalas was a natural step to take, that had me offering mandala hang out sessions with friends, where we all worked on the same pieces, and shared the process from start to finish. These were the most fun, and pleasant of hang outs that I enjoyed for years. It was here that I discovered and honed my mandala making process. Learning along the way helped me teach others tips and principles that helped make the process easy and enjoyable.

Sharing art making with others, is one of my most rewarding endeavours. I believe we are all creative and deserve to experience the fulfillment from creating for self enjoyment. Helping others free themselves up from the barriers and negative voices inside their heads, and move towards creating is at the core of my mentoring.
